  • For one of our mining projects loca­ted in West Africa, we are looking for an expe­rien­ced and quali­fied Electrical Construction Manager. This vital role involves mana­ging the instal­la­tion of a new power plant and compre­hen­sive upgrades to exis­ting elec­tri­cal systems, suppor­ting signi­fi­cant expan­sion projects.
  • You will work along side with the construc­tion mana­ger and be respon­sible for mana­ging the elec­tri­cal engi­neers team assi­gned to the project.
  • You will colla­bo­rate with other depart­ments to make sure they have all the infor­ma­tion requi­red to make sure there are no elec­tri­cal issues in the future, other depart­ments include program­mers and engineers.

Functional responsibilities :

  • Overseeing the engi­nee­ring design to construc­tion, inclu­ding trans­for­mer upgrades, power lines, switch rooms, and under­ground services.
  • Overseeing the progress of speci­fic elec­tri­cal projects and making sure they are on schedule.
  • Planning and imple­men­ting elec­tri­cal projects that are needed for construction.
  • Keeping track of project budge­ting for elec­tri­cal work.
  • Organizing rele­vant infor­ma­tion by crea­ting project docu­ments for the client.
    Making sure the projects follow speci­fic safety rules and regu­la­tions under contract.
  • Managing consul­tants and contrac­tors to ensure project time­lines and quality stan­dards are met.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and envi­ron­men­tal standards.

Required experience and qualifications :

  • Proven exper­tise in elec­tri­cal engi­nee­ring, with a strong back­ground in mana­ging large-scale construc­tion projects.
  • Experience in geotech­ni­cal and civil works rela­ted to power plant instal­la­tion preferred.
  • Ability to work effec­ti­vely in diverse teams and chal­len­ging site conditions.
  • Major inter­na­tio­nal projects expe­rience, espe­cially in the construc­tion of large mining projects, in Africa is preferred.
  • Strong leader­ship and project mana­ge­ment skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and deci­sion-making abilities.
  • Effective commu­ni­ca­tion and nego­tia­tion skills.
  • Demonstrate a high profi­ciency in the use of MS Office products Word, Excel and MS Project.
