  • For our client, a leading inter­na­tio­nal Oil & Gas orga­ni­sa­tion in West Africa, we are sear­ching for a Metering Support Engineer. This role will assist the Lead instru­men­ta­tion engi­neer and Head of section for the upda­ting of the Maintenance Plans inclu­ding dedi­ca­ted proce­dures, spare parts cove­rage, tools selec­tion and other tech­ni­cal aspects.
  • Your primary role will be to handle mete­ring engi­nee­ring aspects. This will include provi­ding tech­ni­cal support and exper­tise for mete­ring engi­nee­ring inclu­ding opera­tion, design and project deve­lop­ment, instal­ling, mana­ging, audi­ting, and main­tai­ning mete­ring systems, across multiple plant units.  You will also be respon­sible for provi­ding tech­ni­cal guidance on high prio­rity mete­ring systems issues.

Functional responsibilities :

  • Prepare and manage main­te­nance plan, spare inven­tory and all other rela­ted admi­nis­tra­tive tools as regards Instrumentation, control systems and mete­ring maintenance.
  • Prepare and update the mete­ring manuals descri­bing the client tech­ni­cal & fiscal mete­ring equip­ment as well as rela­ted opera­ting proce­dures. Ensure the proper saving and storage of data back-up.
  • Provide tech­ni­cal guidance, support, trai­ning, and exper­tise to faci­lity mete­ring team.
  • Monitor Instrumentation and mete­ring system performance.
  • Assess mete­ring and Instrumentation perfor­mance and recom­mend impro­ve­ments for system optimization.
  • Develop and main­tain life­cycle mana­ge­ment acti­vi­ties for mete­ring and instru­men­ta­tion systems.
  • Establish and imple­ment audi­ting guide­lines and perform frequent mete­ring systems and instru­ments audits.
  • Lead the deve­lop­ment of new stra­te­gies and vali­date the feasi­bi­lity of impro­ving company productivity.
  • Ensure manu­fac­tu­ring know­ledge is captu­red in the know­ledge repo­si­tory and conti­nuous impro­ve­ment is deli­ve­red by bench­mar­king and best practices.
  • Provide aware­ness sessions and lead tech­ni­cal exchanges and conferences.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Instrumentation and mete­ring systems and contri­bute to the trou­ble­shoo­ting activities.

Required experience and qualifications :

  • Sc/B.Eng. degree in any engi­nee­ring rela­ted disci­pline such as Instrument, Control, Electronic, Automation, Petroleum, Chemical.
  • Minimum of 10 years working expe­rience in an oil produ­cing, manu­fac­tu­ring or service Company with specia­li­zed training/competence in Metering techniques.
  • Proficiency in the codes and stan­dards in the oil and gas indus­try, i.e., API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc. is required.
  • Good rela­tio­nal, presen­ta­tion and commu­ni­ca­tion skills.
  • Computer lite­rate, with a know­ledge of compu­te­ri­zed process systems.
  • Ability to orga­nize a mission campaign in an offshore environment.
